Hi, I'm Richard Schneider

Nice to meet you!

About Me

Now that you’re here! I'm an Infrastructure and Security Management (IT) student with a deep passion for cybersecurity and infrastructure. What drives me is the joy of making life a little easier whether by automating processes, enhancing security, or introducing new systems and features that excite people.

In everything I do, I stay true to my three core values: discipline, quality, and ambition. I believe that by doing what’s necessary, delivering the best work possible, and constantly striving for more, you create meaningful products that bring genuine value and satisfaction to others, which is what makes the work so rewarding to me in the first place.

When I’m not sharpening my professional skills, you might find me in Spain practicing my Spanish or on the tennis court, struggling to improve my backhand!

Experience

Cloud Engineer

GX Software

Sep 2024 - Feb 2025

During my time at GX Software, my focus was entirely on security. I was responsible for developing and deploying internal tools aimed at enhancing the company's security posture. One of my key projects was the 'Security Platform,' a centralized hub where security processes are automated, such as scanning cloud systems and domains. This automation resulted in streamlined report analysis and an overview of security status.

In addition, I developed and deployed a Security Operations Center (SOC), which provided deeper insights into suspicious traffic, attempted attacks, firewall rule integrity, and other critical security metrics.

Network Engineer

COM1

Feb 2022 - Sep 2022

During my time at COM1, I was involved in two major projects: one for the Red Bull Wings for Life Sponsor Run and the other for the Ministry of Defence (Ministerie van Defensie), the Dutch military.

At COM1, I worked on creating multiple mobile network containers, which were used for large outdoor events such as the Red Bull Wings for Life Sponsor Run. I created a mobile networking station that provided internet access to thousands of event attendees.

In a similar project for the Ministry of Defence during the 4Daagse, a well-known Dutch event where soldiers from around the world walk through Nijmegen and surrounding towns over four days, I created another mobile networking station. This station provided internet access to soldiers and other personnel throughout the event.

Servicedesk

eValue8

Aug 2020 - Jan 2021 & Jul 2021 - Aug 2021

During my time at eValue8, I was primarily involved in ServiceDesk operations, including customer communication, resolving technical issues (both software and hardware), and preparing new Windows machines for shipment.
